December 1977 The Department of Korean Language Education is established in the College of Education.
March 1978 The first class of 41 students enroll.
Professor Gyubok Jung is appointed as the head of the Department of Korean Language Education.
September 1978 Professor Takbon Oh (modern Korean literature) is appointed.
March 1979 The second class of 44 students enroll.
Professor Takbon Oh is appointed as the head of the department.
March 1980 The third class of 43 students enroll.
March 1981 The fourth class of 68 students enroll.
Professor Jaeho Jung (classical Korean literature) is appointed.
Professor Youngsoon Park (Korean linguistics) is appointed.
September 1981 Professor Kwangsoo Sung (Korean linguistics) is appointed.
October 1981 The first academic seminar, “The Reflection and Prospect of Korean Language Education” is held.
February 1982 The department produces its first 23 graduates.
March 1982 The fifth class of 125 students enroll.
October 1982 The second academic seminar, “The Reflection and Prospect of Korean Language Education” is held.
March 1983 The sixth class of 127 students enroll.
May 1983 The first department conference is held.
The first exhibition of illustrated poems in the Department of Korean Language Education is held.
October 1983 The third academic seminar, “The Reflection and Prospect of Korean Language Education” is held.
February 1984 The department produces its third class of 31 graduates.
